We have years of experience flying SEP and MEP to and from the UK usually VFR and can help you by private email to plan your trip / routes..including through France and Spain / airfields recommended / past experiences, in fact we help you all the way.

Portugal has over 150 Airfields however over half of those are really only for (STOL) microlights and many of the others are either disused or for agricultural use only. There are however many GA airfields with long Ashfalt runways fully manned and in most cases the only fees are a £2 landing fee. Remember you can fly direct into any licensed airfield from across the border and Flight Plans are mandatory not only for cross border flights but also for all internal flights.....with some special exceptions.

Fuel is about 25% cheaper than the UK and some of the best hotels en route are available at under £35 per room. Air Traffic Control is superb and fully multi lingual . We have Portuguese airfield Guide books and all Maps, Check ride pilots and safety pilots always available and off course help and advise is completely free. Local temperatures can be very high during the peak months so density altitude is a real factor with a fully laden all up low powered aircraft, safety is very impoertant to us.

We operate Cessna 172 / Cessna 150 - 150 hp / and Rallye aircraft although other aircraft can be hired with notice. Aero Algarve Manager Ken Tomsett operates his DHC 1 Chipmunk from LPPM and can be seen most days Looping and rolling over the nearby 4 Miles of Golden Beaches.

We are GA people at heart and look forward to greeting you on your arrival to help you and answer any questions you have. Hangarage is limited however a brand new facility is at the completion stage with four wash Rooms, showers, air conditioned pilot room, a fully equipped workshop and Battery/Oil room ..all for about £6 per day. (Must pre book and subject to availability)
